A woman has snapped up a pair of designer Yves Saint Laurent earrings worth hundreds of pounds for under £4 in a charity shop.
Savvy shopper Savannah Nicholson showed off her impressive find to her 17,000 followers on social media.
On a recent trip to a charity shop, the 32-year-old spotted a major steal on the shelves.
Savannah dug out what she has dubbed a “once-in-a-lifetime find”.
The gold earrings from designer brand Yves Saint Laurent feature a drop design, with an engraved ribbed finish and logo lettering and clip-on fastenings.
“I had no idea I had found the designer earrings until I got home and took them out of the packaging to reveal the YSL logo on the back,” Savannah, who is from Santa Cruz, California, US, and found the earrings in South Lake Tahoe, told What’s The Jam.
“When I looked up how much they are actually worth, I was shocked!
“I remember almost not going to the thrift store at all but talked myself into going.
“Then once I was there I thought it wasn’t one of my best thrift days because I had only come home with a pair of earrings and a pair of sweats.
“Little did I know, I was in for a big surprise!”
On luxury reseller websites, the YSL earrings are listed between $850 – £$1,000 (£621 – £731).
Savannah, a jewellery designer and co-founder of 127Social, bought the earrings for $4.99 (£3.65).
Savannah shared a video showcasing her find on TikTok, which garnered 31,000 views and almost 2,000 likes.
Many users flocked to the comments to share their reactions.
One person said: “Literally my dream to find designer jewellery”.
A second one wrote: “I keep all of my scores like this. You deserve!”
A third added: “Keep them! They are stunning!”
A different viewer, Paige, said: “Those are yours baby! What a find!”
Another, Monica, added: “Omg these are gorgggg”.
Savannah said some people online have accused her of lying about the incredible charity shop find, but she says it “couldn’t be further from the truth”.
She added: “This is a once-in-a-lifetime find that comes from being an avid thrifter.
“People are so happy and excited for me online since most thrift stores mark up anything they find with value now, rather than letting the customer get it for a good price.
“People [keep asking] if I should keep them or sell them!
“It’s about a 50/50 mix of both, and for now I have decided to keep them!
“How often do you actually find a real designer item for less than $5!!”
