A savvy shopper has revealed that she snapped up a £400 jumper in a charity shop – for just £8.
Isobel Millington shared her incredible find on social media and says she “couldn’t believe her eyes” when she realised just how much the jumper was worth.
The 31-year-old snapped up a blue cashmere jumper during a recent trip to her hometown, finding it tucked under a pile of similar items.

And fans of The Traitors UK might recognise the quality of the item she discovered.
“I stop by this charity shop every time it’s open – only two days a week! – and absolutely ransack it,” Isobel, who is based in Berlin, Germany but from Italy, told What’s The Jam.
“My hometown is surrounded by valleys and the people who live in the hills donate excellent stuff to this shop – it’s the only charity shop in town so it’s the crème de la crème.
“The cashmere jumper caught my eye from under a pile of jumpers.
“I can see cashmere from a mile off so I pulled it out from under the pile and knew straight away it was coming home with me.”

However, Isobel didn’t realise the true value of the product until she got home.
The jumper is in fact from clothing brand Brora, which specialises in Scottish Cashmere knitwear.
In her post online, Isobel shares a photo of a similar jumper on the Brora website – and it’s currently retailing at around £400.

The brand is often seen on BBC’s The Traitors, with host Claudia Winkleman regularly wearing its jumpers, coats, gloves, scarves and more.
She added: “I am an avid cashmere collector, all second-hand or vintage, so when I got home I was speaking to my father about the jumper and I realised how fine it felt, especially on the cuffs.
“That prompted me to check the label and when I saw the prices on the website I couldn’t believe my eyes!
“My pa and I jubilated and called over my mother who did her own investigations to confirm.
“Then I texted all my fellow thrifty girlies to gloat.
“My sister was particularly jealous but she always gets the best hauls from this shop so I do feel it was my turn.”
Isobel’s post garnered more than 144,000 views and almost 4,000 likes.

Isobel says she “wouldn’t dream of reselling” the jumper.
She added: “I plan on wearing the jumper until it disintegrates and then repurposing it for parts.
“I hope it won’t disintegrate though, it’s such good quality it might stand the test of time!”
