A thrifty Brit has gone viral after revealing how he makes his Christmas dinner for a family of four for just £11.

Elliot Jeory’s bargain roast has gone viral on TikTok, garnering 634,000 views, after he detailed how to make the costly meal cheaper.

The dad-of-two went to Asda to challenge himself to see what he could get for his super low budget.

There, the 39-year-old purchased a bag of Yorkshire puddings for 46p, a bag of crispy roast potatoes for 94p, stuffing mix for 30p and gravy granules for 45p.

For veg, he nabbed a bag of carrots for 43p, a bag of swede for 50p, and sprouts for £1 a bag.

For meat, he decided against costly Turkey crowns and opted for chicken at £4.17.

And Elliot didn’t scrimp on the luxuries, picking up a pack of pork cocktail sausages for £1.40 and a pack of bacon for £1.45 to make festive favourite pigs in blankets.

“I used chicken as an alternative to turkey because there is a massive price difference,” Elliot, from Preston, Lancashire, told What’s The Jam.

“Even a turkey crown is expensive, and you can buy chicken for cheap if you shop around.

“I used frozen potatoes as I wanted to factor in cooking costs to make it as cheap as possible.

“So I popped them in the air fryer for 20 mins – it is a lot cheaper than using the oven, which is why I also boiled all the vegetables.

“The meal can be made even cheaper when the veg is on offer for around nine pence in the supermarkets near Christmas!”

In the video, Elliot coats the chicken in oil, salt and pepper and puts it in the oven for two hours.

He then peels and boils all the vegetables together, as well as putting the roast potatoes in the air fryer for 20 minutes.

When the chicken is almost done, he says to put the stuffing in the oven for 25 minutes and the Yorkshire puddings for five minutes.

He then shows off a big plate of roast Christmas dinner, captioning the post: “Christmas dinner on a budget £11.10.”

The clip garnered thousands of likes.

One viewer, Karla, commented: “Plus at Christmas time the veggies will be down to like 8p a bag when all the shops compete with each other.”

Another user, Lou, added: “This is really achievable too. Most supermarkets also do frozen Brussels and parsnips so you can spread the cost week to week from now to Christmas. I hope everybody manages to eat a dinner that makes them feel festive.”

Emmy added: “Looks great.”

Alex said: “Any food on the table is good.”
