A couple has shared their whirlwind romance after breaking off their previous relationships to explore their “work wife and husband” feelings.
When Liv Arnold and her now husband, Tim, started working at a call centre in their 20s, they didn’t expect their “hate” for the job to result in their love story.
The pair, aged 37 and 38, made up inside jokes and played games with one another to distract themselves from the dreaded tasks at hand.

At the time, they were both in respective relationships and didn’t see their “work wife and husband” connection going any further.
Until it was just the two of them on a night out, where their job marriage quickly turned into a real one.
“As a group, we used to go out for drinks after work and fantasise about quitting,” the author told What’s The Jam.
“We also used to go to the movies, for dinner or to the theatre – but our colleagues were so incredibly flaky.
“Most of the time it was just me and Tim.

“As we used to play games and make each other laugh, there was a lot of office gossip going around.
“Our colleagues used to joke that something was going on between us.
“But none of it was true, as there was no attraction for a very long time and we only thought of each other as friends.

“Until one night out, when we grew closer.”
Liv, from Melbourne, Australia, asked Tim to join her for a friend’s birthday party, where the drinks quickly began flowing.
And sure enough, so did their emotions.
She said: “He had a lot to drink and I was still with my boyfriend of four years, who was long distance.
“Tim said he didn’t know why my boyfriend wouldn’t move, because if he was with me, he would move in an instant.
“He also said I was one in a million.
“It was unexpected.
“I was flattered and we already got along – probably more so than I ever did with my ex.”
The pair eventually broke up with their respective partners for various reasons and quickly realised that their “work wife and husband” situation was a lot more serious.
In April 2013, they officially began dating – getting engaged less than a year later – and tying the knot in May 2016.
Now, they’re encouraging people not to ignore feelings in the workplace if they’re mutual, as it could result in finding your soulmate.
Liv added “I love his laugh, he sounds like Dr Evil.
“He loves my smile and humour.
“I had to move roles shortly after we started dating, as we were spending too much time together.
“But I’ve found my soulmate – and it was the hate of our jobs that brought us together.
“While we’re in different roles now, I don’t worry that he will meet someone else at work.
“We’ve been together for a long time and he’s a loyal man.
“If you’ve got a work wife or husband, my advice is to go for it.
“But always make sure to respect your current relationship, if you are in one, and break it off before exploring anything.
“And at least you know that they have a job and passed a police check, so there’s no surprises.”
