A Brit living in the US who sometimes feels like she’s “on a different planet” has shared what she is most ‘shocked’ by – including having the air-con on in winter like a ”wet dog”.
Samantha Venables first moved across the pond for love, after marrying an American.

In one of her most recent clip, the assistant project manager, who now lives in Louisiana, shares “dead weird” that stunned her when she first moved.
The video has garnered over 36,000 views so far.
“Drive-through everything,” she said.

Drive-through pharmacy, drive-through bank, drive-through daiquiri…
“Like, what’s next?

“Drive through-dentist?”
She then went on to describe US portion sizes as “absolutely massive.”
Samantha, who is an assistant project manager, added: “I love air conditioning but these [Americans] will have it on when it’s snowing outside.

“It’s snowing outside.
“It’s like zero degrees.
“They’ve got the air conditioning on.
“Freaking sitting on the couch, freezing like a wet dog.”
“I love it here, I do.
“But it’s different.
“Sometimes I feel like I’m on a different planet.”
Samantha’s video has over 2,000 likes and many comments.
One person said: “My head nearly fell off when I first saw a drive thru daiquiri shop!!!”
Someone else added: “I went to Florida and asked where the toilet was (I’m Scouse as well) and the woman looked at me like I had 10 heads. Took me about two mins to translate (while needing a wee) and said rest room and the penny dropped.”

“You live in Louisiana, we’re a different kinda crazy around here lol,” said someone else.
Another user added: “I take me hatt off to ye girl I couldn’t leave Liverpool I don’t think I’d adjust to living in another country.”

“The toilets freak me out in America, gaps frigging everywhere,” commented someone else.
“At first the journey was hard being far from home, especially when I had my first child,” the mum told What’s The Jam.
“I have been here for 11 years now though and have found ways to help me from getting homesick.
“The best part has been creating a family and making memories with my children.
“I like to make my content relatable.
“There are many other differences in the USA, my page often talks about that.”
