The shark was spotted on a stretch of beach near the Hotel Riu Dunamar in the holiday resort of Cancun, Mexico.
Argentine tourist Mark Demian filmed the scary moment.
Mark told What’s The Jam that the shark suddenly appeared in the shallow water, shocking the hordes of tourists enjoying the day on the beach.
He said: “We don’t know what species of shark it was, but it was quite small and we were told it’s uncommon for them to appear in the area.
“I heard it was a nurse shark, which is harmless, but maybe they said that just to calm people down.

“It would only spark panic if they said it was dangerous.”
Mark added: “It still managed to scare the life out of me!”
He added that the lifeguards eventually managed to shepherd the predator away on their jet skis.
