A Brit teacher who spent almost £4,000 on her Coachella trip claims the US festival trumps its “rowdy” UK counterparts, as thousands flock to the second weekend.
Olivia Duffield spent a year saving up to afford a dream trip to the world’s biggest music festival.
With the second weekend set to kick off today (17 Apr), the 25-year-old has lifted the lid on if the price is really worth it.

The teacher spent a whopping £3,800 on her travel, ticket, merchandise and food during her three day stint.
“Overall, Coachella was more peaceful and easier to get around,” Olivia, from the West Midlands, told What’s The Jam.

“It was definitely worth the money.
“Coachella was definitely more relaxed and less rowdy.
“People drank at the festival for sure but not on the level of a UK festival.”

Sharing her experience online, the teacher’s post racked up over 160,000 views with Brits stunned by the price.
While viewers were more used to muddy fields, destroyed tents and wild antics, the California-based festival offered the opposite.

She said: “There were a couple of comments saying, ‘I’d rather spend my money on this…’ or, ‘You can get an all inclusive holiday in the Maldives for this’.

“I have to say the crowds are quieter when performers are on.
“People were very good at giving you personal space.”

During her time at Coachella in 2025, Olivia bumped into a number of celebrities mixing with the crowds, including former One Direction star Louis Tomlinson, YouTuber James Charles and influencer Leah Halton.
She said: “Running to and from stages as they were quite a distance away, we bumped into random celebrities throughout the weekend.
“I’m 100% hoping to go again.”
