A woman has revealed how her stab at plumping up her lips left her with major regret.
Katherine Tring has shared the gory details of her lips that felt “like they could pop” after receiving botched filler.
Suffering a lack of confidence, the 30-year-old turned to lip treatment to improve her smile.
But, what was meant to be a quick fix, turned into a terrifying ordeal.

And, she was forced to get rid of her plump pout after an adverse reaction left her bashed and bruised.
“I actually regretted my life choices and they felt extremely weird,” Katherine, from Hampshire, told What’s The Jam.
“I’ve always had a very thin top lip that disappeared when I smiled.
“It’s called an M-shaped lip that can be hard to correct, but I knew it would make a difference to my confidence.”

So, in a bid to increase her self esteem and smile, Katherine decided on lip filler.
However, it didn’t exactly go to plan with the civil servant clueless to the amount of filler the technician who administered it actually used.
Katherine explained: “I don’t know [how much filler there was] exactly!

“The person who did it, warned me it would take a lot to make a difference – it was definitely well over 1ml.
”Immediately afterwards my lips swelled.
“We actually had to stop before she was happy with them as they were too swollen to continue.
“They bled and bruised as it was being done.
“I could feel the blood trickling down my face and neck.
“They felt really hard and actually like they couldn’t get any bigger or they’d pop.”
Embarrassed by the botched procedure, Katherine felt no option but to hide her pout from the world.
She even took time off from work due to the adverse reaction.
She said: ”I took the first day off, then I wore a mask and everyone thought I had Covid!
“I took antihistamines and I was recommended Arnica gel, but had a reaction to it.
“At one point I considered going to hospital as I thought I was having an allergic reaction to it all.
“They went down eventually, probably by day five.
“But I had to wait two weeks for the dent to be corrected as they were too swollen to continue from the first session.”
After continuous issues, Katherine decided to get the filler dissolved and start from scratch again.
“I got them dissolved a year and a half later by an aesthetic nurse.
“She did top up the top lip, but then decided it wasn’t the best idea.
“My top lip had migrated from being overfilled and my bottom lip had hard lumps.
”But, two weeks after she dissolved them she filled them again.
“She didn’t charge me for refilling as she topped them up when it wasn’t appropriate.
“She was so gentle and I had minimal bruising/swelling.”
But, the civil servant was left shaken and scared from the experience.
She also hid the initial ordeal from her partner, but was later forced to bare all and admit defeat.
Katherine said: “It was quite scary actually.
“I didn’t tell my partner I was having them done and I hid my lips with a blanket when he first walked in.
“He said: ‘Oh God, what have you done!!’
“He was shocked and told me I looked ridiculous!
“My friends and family were good at reassuring me, but while my lips were swollen no one could take me seriously!
“I had to send daily updates.”
Katherine shared her experience online via TikTok (@katherinetring) and unexpectedly received an influx of support.
She said: “It’s been positive actually.
“I had someone reach out who had been to the same lady.
“She ended up going to hospital as hers were as swollen as mine.”
Dishing up advice she said: “I would say trust the process, but do your research.
“A lot of practitioners offer model prices.
“But it’s in your best interests to pay a bit more to avoid unnecessary discomfort and side effects.”
