A brain dead woman has miraculously spoken to her family from her hospital bed just weeks after being put into an induced coma.
Emma Price’s family were shocked when doctors told them she was paralysed on one side and that tests showed there were no sign of brain activity.
The 32-year-old was rushed to hospital after overdosing on painkillers due to claims she was being “bullied”.

But now, after being on the brink of death, Emma is battling back.
Her brother Thomas originally shared the traumatic story online to raise funds for his stricken sister, who is from Basildon, Essex.
He explains that the overdose caused a stroke and brain damage, which left her paralysed on her right side.
Thomas adds that the funds raised will go towards house adaptations and to help with Emma’s finances, and that she “has a loving family who wants her to make a full recovery”.
In an incredible development, the young woman is now on the mend.

But there is a long road ahead.
“She is now conscious and she has had her first meal today and is also now out of critical care,’ Thomas told What’s The Jam.
“She spoke to my parents on the phone, too.

“When she first went into hospital the doctors said they said that she had no brain activity when they did an MRI scan.
“Then we were told that she was fully paralysed on her right side, but she is now moving her arm and leg.”
Though she can speak, Emma is suffering from brain damage and will need to re-learn many day-to-day activities.
Thomas said: “We have no time frame of when she will be out.
“She needs to learn how to walk again and be able to stand on her own.
“The medics are trying to get her to eat proper meals as well.
“It could still be weeks until she is home.
“But she will never be the same Emma as we all knew.
“It’s going to be a really long road ahead for her recovery.”
Emma is continuing her fight in Basildon hospital and spoke to parents David and Samantha by phone this week.
Dad David added: “We phoned the hospital and the staff put her on the phone to us and she said, ‘hi’.
“It’s a relief that she is conscious again.
“But I’m sorry to say she has got brain damage now.
“Though she is very strong.”
As of today, Thursday 8 August, Thomas’ fundraiser has generated nearly £5,300 of its £6,000 target.
