Jamie Oliver has been branded patronising for teaching Brits how to boil an egg.
The 49-year-old TV cook offered the step-by-step guide.
Foodies said a five-year-old kid knows how to cook one.

Others claimed he got the timing wrong.
The chef started off with a saucepan of boiling water with a pinch of salt.
He then added a large free range organic egg to the pan, by placing it on a slotted spoon.
Oliver then dipped it in and out two to three times before placing it on the bottom of the pan.
For a soft boiled egg he recommends five-and-a-half minutes.

Semi soft boiled ones will need seven-and-a-half-minutes.
Hard boiled eggs will need a whopping eleven to twelve minutes in the water, as reported by What’s The Jam.
The chef finished it off by adding a pinch of salt to his ‘humble boiled egg’.

Members of the public called the chef out for his routine.
Gabrielle Loudermilk stated: “I learned how to boil an egg when I was five, six years old.
“Are there really people out there who don’t know that?”
Nigel Hill said: “Next you’ll be teaching us how to boil water.”
Nermin Osman Zerzavatci said: “Bit sad if he has to teach how to boil an egg.
“Are people that thick.”
John Hunter Wilson said: “What is he talking about?
“I like Jamie but this is way off.”
Mariam Ghadiali added: “Absolutely incorrect I’m afraid my dear Jamie.
“Far too long.”
Jenny Cording added: “And what about inserting a pin in the big end to release air so it doesn’t crack.”
Yet Linda Veinot said: “I’d eat your boiled eggs.”
Eve Hagarty added: “Good to know.
“I don’t really time the eggs when I boiled.”
