A Brit dad was left stumped when his toddler spotted two insects getting it on in the garden.

Matt Lewis had an awkward parenting moment when his son noticed a couple of ladybirds moving in a peculiar way.

Freddie the three-year-old wasted no time in quizzing his father on what the love bugs were up to.

Fortunately, the 36-year-old managed to bat off his son’s questions and claim the insects were just giving one another a ‘piggyback’.

“He always has a lot of questions as he’s quite inquisitive so this was a usual garden conversation for us,” Matt, from Herefordshire, told What’s The Jam.

“He was very excited to find the ladybirds and called me over to see.

“He was even more excited to see two of them as it was one of the first we had seen this year.

“I think that them having a piggyback was the perfect way to describe this scene for him at this age and just the type of response he would have been looking for.”

The clip took a wild turn when the toddler asked why a third ladybird wasn’t present – leaving dad speechless.

The garden centre retail manager spends countless hours outside with his son who loves nature.

This hilarious moment was captured at their home in April – with Matt often filming their adventures in the garden.

He said: “It was very usual for us to be having conversations like this in the garden, however this one was particularly funny.

“I was also surprised at the scene as it is something which I have not consciously noticed before.

“The conversation is something I’ll remember forever and shows his enthusiasm for nature and the great outdoors.

“I shared it because we regularly share updates of what we get up to in the garden with the hope to encourage others to spend time outdoors and to enjoy plants and nature.”

The clip quickly went viral online racking up over 920,000 views and more than 36,500 likes.
