Brit residents have been left fuming as an ‘eyesore’ mountain of rubbish has been dumped on their street.
Mattresses, sofas and household appliances were left strewn across the pavement and road on Collins Street in Great Horton, Bradford, sparking anger over what locals say is becoming a regular eyesore.
City of Bradford councillor Sirferaz Saddiq-Kaks was shocked by the scene and demanded action against those responsible, as reported by What’s The Jam

He said: “Is this now becoming the norm?
“Yet again residents are left to deal with the eyesore and the consequences of irresponsible dumping.

“How many more times must this happen before we see meaningful action to tackle the problem?
“Our community deserves better than this.
“Sometimes you got to have the courage to confront these idiots and tell them straight to their face.”

Councillor Joanne Dodds also branded the waste “disgraceful and concerning”.

She said enforcement officers were in contact with the landowner and arrangements had been made to clear the rubbish.
She added: “I would urge any residents who have any information of fly tippers to contact the council, it is becoming a regular sight to see people’s unwanted furniture and household waste dumped on the street, this is unacceptable.”

A street-cleaning request had been submitted to remove rubbish spilling onto the highway and pavement.
Bradford Council said inquiries were underway into a vehicle believed to have brought waste to the site.
Councillor Ian Walker, the council’s Executive Member for Neighbourhoods and Communities, said skips had been placed at the location to clear rubbish dumped on private land.
He said: “The waste on the highway has been removed, and our teams will be checking the area again to remove any final items.”
Cllr Walker confirmed enforcement action was underway as officers worked to identify those responsible.
He said: “Fly-tipping is a criminal offence, and we encourage anyone with information about this incident or any other of this nature to report it via Bradford Council’s website or by ringing 01274 431000.”
Earlier this month a mountain of fly-tipped rubbish, including mattresses, dirty nappies and even a caravan, sparked fury after being left to spill out onto a quiet, residential street in Gloucester.
