Tesco is giving its hugely popular meal deal a summer makeover with 17 new limited-edition items inspired by American BBQ flavours, Italian classics and high-protein food trends.
Among the more unusual additions is a pulled beef brisket sandwich served in a sugar-topped doughnut-style brioche roll and topped with candied jalapeños.
There’s also a new Cacio e Pepe chicken wrap inspired by the classic Roman pasta dish, while another premium option combines mortadella, mozzarella and red pepper tapenade inside focaccia bread.

The move comes as supermarkets continue battling for lunchtime shoppers with increasingly premium meal deal options, limited-edition flavours and higher-protein alternatives, as reported by Whats The Jam.
American-inspired flavours feature heavily throughout the new range, with hickory pulled pork wraps, Buffalo Ranch battered chicken and a spicy Southern Fried Chicken sandwich all making an appearance.
For shoppers looking for something lighter, there are also new high-protein salads, including Chicken Shawarma with chilli garlic kebab sauce and an Asian-style prawn noodle salad with coconut and lime dressing.
Meanwhile, Mediterranean-inspired falafel bowls and Mexican-style chicken rice salads have also joined the line-up.
The summer refresh extends beyond sandwiches and salads too.

New snack options include garlic and herb cream cheese with pretzels, cheesy ranch and buffalo dip with crackers, plus pots of chargrilled and tandoori chicken chunks.
Tesco is also experimenting with a new hot meal deal in selected stores, offering breakfast and lunch options as the battle for Britain’s lunchtime spending continues to heat up.
Clubcard members currently pay £3.85 for Tesco’s standard meal deal, rising to £4.25 without a Clubcard, while premium options cost £5.50.
