Britain’s biggest aquapark is reopening just in time for the Bank Holiday weekend – and thrill-seekers have a huge new attraction to look forward to.

The popular Aqualand inflatable water park is back for the summer season, bringing with it a brand-new mega slide designed for adrenaline junkies.

Standing at a towering 12m (39ft), the new “X Tower” promises high-speed drops, racing lanes and a heart-pounding experience not for the faint-hearted.

While the main park reopens this week, visitors will have to wait a little longer before tackling the towering new addition.

Aqualand, at Cliff Lakes in Tamworth, near Birmingham, will reopen on Saturday (2 May), with the X Tower set to launch on Saturday (23 May), just in time for the second Bank Holiday weekend and school holidays, as reported by Whats The Jam.

The X Tower, featuring six slides, including dual racing lanes and steep drop sections designed for maximum thrills.

The new attraction is part of a wider expansion at the site, with another addition – the “Wibit Wave” – also arriving this summer.

The wave-style slide stretches 15 metres and is five metres high, offering a more playful but still energetic ride.

The water park already features eight inflatable obstacle courses that visitors can explore during 80-minute sessions.

Guests must be aged six or over and at least 1.10 metres tall to take part, while younger children must be accompanied by an adult.

Participants are also required to be confident swimmers and able to swim 25 metres unaided before hitting the water.

Entry includes a wetsuit and buoyancy aid, with all visitors required to wear safety equipment during their session.

Those wanting to try the X Tower will need to pay an additional £5 upgrade on top of standard admission.

With warmer weather on the horizon and a brand-new thrill ride in the works, the attraction is expected to draw crowds looking to cool off – and test their nerve.
