A woman has shared that her dog is more important than her love life, turning down men because her pooch didn’t approach.

Yasmin El-Saie, a digital creator and holistic practitioner, adopted Chilli when he was eight weeks old, falling in love with him immediately.

Looking for a companion to keep her company during her long solo hours, they made the perfect pair, helping each other through life, with Chilli having the final say in her dating life.

Sharing her best friend on Instagram (@chilliwawa), she has quickly amassed over 31,900 followers who quickly fell for the feisty pet.

“Chilli is the love of my life,” the 45-year-old, from London, told What’sTheJam.com.

“He showers me with unconditional love.

“I have turned down men because Chilli didn’t like them and I would do it again.

“Years ago I was dating a very attractive young man whom I really fancied.

“We went on some dates and the time eventually came where he was going to meet Chilli but the minute that happened I was concerned – Chilli was very weary of the guy, unsure and almost a bit scared.

“Chilli didn’t take to this guy at all – it was not a match made

in heaven, actually a total mismatch and I stopped seeing that person.

“I wasn’t sure of our compatibility from the start and basically Chilli totally agreed!

“I wouldn’t even begin going out with a man who doesn’t like Chilli, there’s absolutely no point.

“Chilli is my soulmate and bestie and we spend all of our time together.”

Trusting his instincts, Yasmin lets her pooch take full control, with the Chihuahua vetting all potential suitors.

She said: “I trust both of our instincts and it would surprise me if we are far off of each other’s impressions.

“There are some factors which I believe are a bit more primal, such as protection, guarding and survival, and these can be seen in perspective – but if his guarding doesn’t change or there is fear present, that’s a red flag for me.

“So, I’m sorry to say fellas, yes Chilli is the most important person in my life.

“But I am still hoping to find a human love as beautiful & unconditional as the connection I have with Chilli.

“I haven’t given up on love!”

Meeting 12 years ago, the pair were a match made in heaven, Yasmin looking for a companion, with Chilli becoming the key to managing her mental health.

She added: “When I went to look at some puppies, I sat on the living room floor and one of them made a beeline for me, put his tiny paws on my knees and looked me straight in the eyes!

“I looked back at him, and I recognised his soul.

“It was love at first sight.

“I had always been very healthy but after a severe period of stress, I suddenly started suffering with spasms and seizures in my back – my healing journey took almost a year.

“I was mainly confined to my bed, Chilli was my loyal companion, he stopped me from getting too lonely and cheered me up when I felt depressed.

“Chilli has helped me in so many ways.

“He helped me through my illness, and he held a mirror up to my own anxiety.

“I personally believe that there is great power and healing in serving others.

“So by having a dog or service animal, we are committing to taking care of this being in love.

“As tough as it sometimes feels, it is a huge blessing to “have to” get up in the morning to walk and feed your pooch, to take care of them, to make sure they get enough exercise, to interact and play with them.

“The endless love we receive from our pooches is beyond words.”

Posting a clip of Chilli on Instagram, she quickly gained over 239,000 views and 2,400 likes.
