Shoppers have been left stunned by a pesky starling spotted pinching fruit at ASDA.

The winged fiend swooped into the fruit isle for a sweet snack, pecking through packaging.

Hassan Pervez spotted the bird helping itself to a pack of blueberries.

The estate agent was then joined by other shoppers who stopped on their tracks after noticing the feathery thief.

The footage was taken at ASDA, Wembley, London, as reported by What’s The Jam.

The clip was taken on Tuesday (20 Jan).

The bird, which is believed to be a starling, was attempting to make a hole in the packaging to secure the fruit.

And it seemed not to notice the open box of £4.32 blueberries right next to it.

The animal continued to peck at the tub before flying into the rafters of the supermarket.

Members of the public were left shocked by the footage, which suggests starlings may soon replace seagulls as the top winged scavengers.

Tee said: “Someone tell the bird there’s an open container of blueberries next to the one it’s pecking at.”

Devante joked: “Bro usually has to fly hours to get those.”

Bevsey said: “Love this, we all have to eat.”

One added: “The starlings around Wembley Park ASDA have evolved to fit in with their environment.”
