Two dogs with the same rare eye condition have met and become best friends.
Eryn Nichols, 22, works for a pet day care and says she immediately noticed a special bond form between the pair.
The black dog is Hank, a five-year-old hound mix, while Opal is the other dog – a two-year-old cattle dog mix.

Clips of their sweet bonding have become popular on TikTok, with one garnering 14,000 views.
“I was just petting them both under their chins when I noticed they not only had the same eye condition – Heterochromia – but the same colour for each eye!” Eryn, from Portland, Oregon, told What’s The Jam.

“I thought it was a crazy coincidence that they had the same eyes and had been keeping each other company in daycare.
“The dogs met in daycare – it was a busy day and the group of dogs was very rambunctious.
“Opal and Hank are more chill dogs so they gravitated towards each other.

“They also both enjoy attention from people, so they ended up next to each other and me asking for pets.
“These dogs love attention and were sitting on a play structure in order to be away from the craziness of the room and allow me to pet them easier.”
Heterochromia is a condition where a dog has eyes that are different colours, or variations of colour within one eye.

It is usually genetic, harmless, and does not affect a dog’s vision.
In the video, the two can be seen in the daycare, called Original Bark, sitting together and looking at the camera.
More clips show the two sat side by side.

Someone else said: “Hank is such a chud I love him.”

Another user added: “I’m gonna be mad if they weren’t lovers.”
Jules said: “Dogs sitting back to back means they have a different level of trust! They’ve definitely met before, either in this life or a past one!”

According to Eryn they have been inseparable since.
She said: Eryn said: “Hank and Opal are very friendly, but are very chill and low maintenance dogs, having similar personalities they gravitated towards each other.
“I didn’t know they were such good friends until after I took the first video.
“I noticed them together throughout the hours they were there, even sitting and laying back to back which is dog body language for I like and trust you.”
“I was so happy that each dog was able to find a friend that they got along with.
“Daycare is sometimes very intimidating.
“It is very loud, filled with different smells, and different dogs that sometimes don’t get along.
“It is great that they were able to find a comfortable buddy for them to spend the day away from their families with.
“We have a few other dogs that also have heterochromia, but none that match with another dog.
“I thought it was sweet that they not only looked the same, but found comfort in that.”
