A woman has sparked a conversation online after revealing she is being ignored by her colleague – after she refused to give them a lift to work.

TikTokker Lisa shared the story with her followers, with the post racking up 63,000 views and sparking a huge debate.

The 38-year-old administrative assistant, from Torbay in south Devon, often posts conundrums sent in by her fans, who are desperate for advice of tricky situations.

This time, it was a woman wondering if she was in the wrong for putting. an end to a carpool system at work.

The woman claims that she gave her co-worker a lift in her car as a one-off while her vehicle was getting fixed, but the rides never stopped, continuing on for months.

The woman said: “A few months ago, a co-worker asked if I could give her a lift to work in the morning because her car was going into the garage.

“I drive past her house anyway so I said, ‘Yes, no problem.’

“The next day she asked again and then the day after that – before I knew it, she stopped asking all together and just waited outside her house for me to pass.

“If I was even five minutes late she’d text asking where I was.

“She never offered fuel money, never said thank you and she even complained if I had to stop on the way home.

“One time she complained the entire way home because I had to stop at the pharmacy to collect a prescription for my poorly mum.”

When she plucked up the courage to say the lifts were coming to an end, she said her colleague looked “shocked” and pointed out that she lived on her way to work.

The woman continued: “I told her that didn’t make it my responsibility but she said that I was just being awkward and that I should help out because it wasn’t costing me anything extra to take her to work.

“I told her she was the only one benefitting from the arrangement and she muttered something about how I made it all about money.

“Now, she’s making her own way to work and barely speaking to me.

“She’s telling our co-workers I left her stranded, but the way I see it is that I was doing her a one of favour that she turned into an expectation.

“Am I wrong for leaving her stranded?”

Lisa posed the question to her followers, and the video went viral with more than 1,500 likes and hundreds of comments.

Bex said: “Stranded…she chose the job and is responsible for her own travel, she is an adult, she isn’t stranded – entitled? Yes. Stranded? No.”

Heidi added: “Unreal!! The entitlement…Your car, your time, your choice!”

Jane joked: “Wasn’t causing her anything extra… except daily irritation. No amount of money can cover that anyway.”

Arezo said: “No it’s not your responsibility.”

Mary added: “At the very least she should’ve offered to pay for the petrol. You’re not a free taxi service.”

But other users took a different view.

One person argued: “The only thing the co-worker did wrong was to let it go on for so long.”

Lexi added: “Definitely chip in money. Or they could alternate driving weeks.”

Another user said: “I think this is a lesson to us all to nip these things in the bud early.”

David added: “Make a carpool agreement! It’s kind of ridiculous to not carpool when you drive past her house!”

Lisa shared her own thoughts – picking a side of the argument.

“My opinion is if someone is giving you a lift to work every day even if it’s going the same way as you, you should offer money towards fuel or pay them back in some way, such as getting them lunch one day,” she told What’s The Jam.

“I think it’s unfair to assume that if it doesn’t cost someone extra to get you, as it’s on the way anyway, that you’re entitled to it.”
