A new religious statue has been mocked for looking like something from the hit video game Minecraft.
The monument to Judas Thaddaeus, one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus, stands at a height of nearly 100ft (30m).
However, while it was intended as a new symbol of Christian faith to help boost religious tourism, the sculpture has already become the subject of much ridicule online.

“I thought it was a character from the video game Clash of Clans,” added Carlos.

Work on the statue began in 2024 and it was inaugurated last week, as reported by What’s The Jam.

Designers included the saint’s traditional green and white attire, but said they will add his famous wooden staff at a later date.
The council hopes the structure will attract pilgrims to the site, especially on 28 October when Mexico celebrates the feast day of Saint Jude Thaddeus.
