A pet cat got the shock of its life after coming face to face with a huge seagull pecking at a window.
The unlikely enemies were locked in a bizarre stare-down through the glass.
Black and white puss Jinx looked completely baffled by the massive, squawking bird, which appeared utterly unfazed by the feline on the other side.

The comical moment was made even better when a second cat, Albus, wandered over to see what the fuss was about.
The strange encounter took place at Wendy Dixon’s home in Dorchester, Dorset.
“I was working downstairs and could hear the seagull noise,” she told What’s The Jam.

“But I couldn’t understand why it seemed to be going on for so long.
“So I started looking out of different windows to see where it was.

“I went into the bathroom to find it on top of my extension, eye level at the window, ‘talking’ to one of my cats, Jinx.
“The other cat, Albus, was below on the floor.
“Jinx is only one and into everything.

“Albus is very lazy.
“We’d only recently moved to the area, and they hadn’t witnessed, let alone come into such close contact with, a seagull.
“They’re indoor cats strictly, and both clearly didn’t have any idea of what it actually was.
“It was so large and loud.
“I live in Dorchester town centre.
“We have lots of gulls around here, being so close to Weymouth.
“I’m told they nest here every spring.
“We will have the joy of seeing several young gulls in the garden in the summer.”
