An influencer has been left fuming after splashing out £585 on luxury Christmas crackers he guesses should only be worth “about £45”.
Carmie Sellitto, who has 1.3 million TikTok followers, is known for putting pricey food, treats and high-end gifts to the test to see if they really live up to the hype.
With Christmas Day preparations in full swing, the 26-year-old decided to put Fortnum and Mason’s gold crackers under the microscope to see if the festive splurge was worth it.

Carmie, from London, filmed himself opening the eye-watering £585 box, captioning the video: “I can’t believe I spent £585 on this,” as reported by What’s The Jam.

He opens the bright blue box to reveal six gold crackers tied with gold and silver bows, admitting: “They actually look beautiful.”
But things quickly take a turn.
As he opens the first cracker with help from a friend behind the camera, Carmie comments on the paper quality while struggling to pull it apart.
Inside, he finds two small boxes of truffles and says: “Why are you doing me dirty for real.”

“This is actually insane.
