A factory worker was left stunned after finding a venomous snake in a tomato delivery.
The sneaky reptile stowed away in a box of green tomatillos in Mexico.
It eventually made its way to a distribution centre in Ontario, Canada – 2,116 miles away.
According to the Toronto Wildlife Centre (TWC), a food terminal worker, named Troy, came face-to-face with

the snake after opening it up.
It was a northern cat-eyed snake, a mildly venomous snake found in North and Central America.
A video shows the orange and brown reptile sticking out its tongue at the cameraperson after being discovered inside the box.
A TWC spokesperson told Jam Press: “Troy, concerned for the displaced and no doubt distressed reptile, immediately called our Wildlife Hotline for help.

“The caring employee gently placed the snake into a box and brought him safely to TWC, which is a registered charity.
“Although the veterinary team confirmed the snake was in good health, he was still a long way from home.
“Our team is currently working on a plan to return this accidental traveller back to his native environment.”

The spokesperson added: “Until then, he’ll need continued care – including a temperature and humidity-controlled enclosure, fresh substrate, heat lamps, protein-packed food and more – to keep him healthy until his journey home.”
One local said: “Did you know that all foreign shipments of food to Canada are fumigated with very toxic gas?
“I’m glad this fellow survived.”

“I’m glad he survived and you folks are caring for him.
