A 4’11” python hunter has won £7,383 ($10,000) after capturing 60 snakes in a terrifying challenge.
Taylor Stanberry took part in the 10-day annual competition, which saw nearly 300 invasive Burmese pythons removed from the wild to support conservation efforts.
The 29-year-old walked away with the top prize after out-hunting more than 900 participants, as reported by What’s The Jam.

Taylor, who works at a canine rehab centre and runs an exotic animal sanctuary in Naples, Florida, was officially recognised by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) after the feat, which took place last month.

According to officials, just 195 snakes were caught during last year’s challenge – making 2025 a record-breaking year, with 294 total pythons removed.
“I am honoured to be the first female ultimate grand prize winner,” Taylor said of her triumph.
“I put in a lot of hours, gas money, and blood to the mosquitoes, but it was worth it to save the native animals here in Florida.”
She competed alongside 934 people from 30 states and Canada.

“That lady is braver than I,” another impressed viewer wrote.
The annual competition’s site describes it as “a conservation effort which helps protect the rare Everglades habitat and the animals that live there from these invasive, nonnative snakes”.
