A Vinted buyer was gobsmacked when clothes she ordered arrived in a Spar cereal box.

Kath Humphreys ordered some clothes for her one-year-old daughter Rosie from the virtual marketplace.

The 27-year-old went to collect the parcel from an InPost locker on Wednesday (23rd Apr) and was baffled when she discovered a Choco Flakes cereal box.

Kath hid the package in embarrassment and rushed home.

Despite the unusual packaging, the teacher says that the dungarees and cardigans she’d ordered were in perfect condition.

“When I saw the cereal box, I was gobsmacked,” Kath, from Cardiff, Wales, told What’s the Jam.

“I double checked that it was for me.

“It was embarrassing because I thought people would think I’d ordered cereal to an InPost locker so I shoved it under my arm.

“The clothes are perfect but the packaging is wacky.

“It was broken as well.

“It’s that bad that it’s funny.”

Kath complained to the seller and left them a review advising them to use better packaging next time.

She said: “I sell on Vinted myself and I use postage bags from Amazon.

“I sent her a message saying that the clothes were perfect but they were rammed into a cereal box and she left me a two star review.

“She said that it was the only thing she could find.”

Kath shared an image of her parcel online and the post has racked up 300,000 views.

Other Vinted customers shared their own stories about clothing arriving in creative packaging.

Kath added: “I thought it would be really rare but people were saying they’ve had things arrive in pizza boxes and cat food boxes.

“Reading the comments was entertaining and I was laughing my head off but how is it allowed?

“Do Vinted know that people are doing this?

“Half of the people commenting said that the clothes were fine so what does it matter which I get but the other half agreed with me.”

Kira said: “Do people not keep carrier bags in their house anymore?”

Charlotte added: “I don’t mind it. Rather re-used items than more plastic bags.”

April said: “It is funny but as long as their clothes are okay.

“Considering the box is ripped though I wouldn’t be giving them five stars.”

Roger added: “I had a top delivered in an old Tesco frozen chip bag.”

Another said: “I once got a t-shirt delivered in a Tesco meal deal wrap box.”

Jade Mitchell added: “Mine came in a carrier bag. I was like ‘bonus’ we’re off to a good start.

“Opened said carrier bag and there was my item in a subway paper bag from a sandwich. I died.”
