Blocks of cheddar have been wrapped in security packaging at Tesco despite costing just £2.99
Customers have been left cheesed off by the move.
The savoury snack is the latest item to be tagged at the supermarket.

With shoplifting across the UK becoming more and more of an issue due to the cost-of-living-crisis, stores are now taking extreme measures to prevent it.
In a Tesco Express in Redditch, Worcestershire blocks of Cathedral City cheese have been spotted in alarm tagged nets, despite only costing £2.99.
According to figures published by West Mercia Police in September 2024, shoplifting was the third most reported crime in the area.
A shocked shopper who spotted the cheese also noticed that a £5.25 steak in the same netting yesterday (12 Nov), as reported by What’s The Jam.
Locals were left shocked by the images.

Kevin Richardson said: “This is only the beginning.”
Sarah Jayne stated: “That won’t stop them.”
Edwin Chaffin added: “Sign of the hard times.”

Luke Bush said: “It’s messed up.
“The people around there steal so much they have to do this.”
Wendy Lammas added: “I hate thieves, lowest of the low, that’s why shops put their prices up and I don’t blame them.”
Tesco has been approached for a comment.
