Now, he’s joined up with a team of experts to explore the abandoned 17th century St Kenelm’s church, in Wimborne, Dorset.
And says they had to quickly leave, as an unknown entity was trying to “lure” them into the basement.
“On entering the location, we immediately felt a heavy presence and like we were not alone,” the personal trainer, from Lymington, told What’s The Jam.
“The activity and voices seemed to heighten when we mentioned or asked questions about the basement area.
“One of our devices kept going off when we asked if investigator Paul Cissell should go down on his own.

“At one point, he had to leave and go outside as he started to feel very unwell and sick.
“Just as we were about to go, he felt something push him forward towards the opening.
“What had affected Paul in the church and why were they so keen to get him down there?”

In the clip on TikTok, which has racked up 593,000 views and over three thousand likes, he shares snippets of the investigation’s spookiest moments caught on camera.
Paul can be spotted at the back of the group, facing toward the front door, where the basement opening is located.
As the video goes on, he appears to move further and further toward the unknown area.
From hearing footsteps, to blurred male voices and other mysterious noises, it’s clear the team weren’t alone.
Tony, who has been hunting ghouls for over 16 years, added: “I’ve wanted to visit this location for some time [after] people had told me about their own paranormal experiences.
“We could hear clear footsteps, as well as a male and female voice several times.
“Who is haunting this 17th century church?”
