A man staying in a budget hotel room says he left the premises after inspecting the bed with a UV light.
Zac Jones visited the Highbury hotel in Blackpool, where he claims to have paid just £12.80 for a night.
The 27-year-old quickly set about scouring the room to check it was up to scratch, even using a UV light to detect potential stains.

Zac, who has trialled various budget hotels, was horrified when he found it to be the “worst” inspection he has ever done.
He filmed the experience and shared it on TikTok, where one clip has garnered 2.4 million views.
Detailing his experience, he describes the room as “a bit dirty” and “vintage” but noted that there was coffee, tea and a kettle provided, as well as a TV.
“For £12.80 a night I’m impressed,” Zac, a content creator from Liverpool, told What’s The Jam.
“[But] I’d rather drive home than stay in that bed.”

An allegedly stained chair and dirty cupboard were the first signs that the space might not be up to his standards.
After the “not a terrible first impression”, Zac uses a UV light to search the bed.
He removes the sheets and covers to reveal what appears to be a stained mattress, which is shown more clearly with the light.

The content creator groans as he takes in the sight, calling it “horrible” and “atrocious”.
Zac then dubs this the “worst UV light inspection I’ve ever done” and swiftly decides against spending the night.
His followers have been left equally horrified by the findings of the light.
One person commented: “I first thought it wasn’t too bad but after this never mind I’ll go to an chain hotel.”
“I’d be booking a Premier Inn and leaving,” another user agreed.
Someone else said: “No way would I sleep in there.”
“Hell no,” said another critic.
“For £12 I think I’d expect worse,” one person wrote in defence of the hotel.
Another joked: “For £12.80 I would still sleep in the bed, even if scenes of crime had just left.”
Despite leaving early, Zac said he had no real qualms about the hotel and described the staff as “friendly”.
He said: “I didn’t want a refund – the price was justified.
“The room wasn’t the worst I’ve stayed in, despite the price, and I was blown away when the owner said breakfast [was included] – and that it was included in the price!”
Zac also appeared happy with the shared areas, though he noted some cobwebs and stray hairs.
But he was otherwise impressed by the offering – particularly the fry-up breakfast included in the price.
Though, as he left, he never got a chance to try it.
Jam Press has contacted the Highbury hotel for comment.
