A woman who endured years of wearing nappies due to incontinence has finally overcome the condition, describing it as “the best thing to ever happen” to her.
Sheriena Newnham, 46, from North Devon, struggled with incontinence for over two decades. Initially mild, her symptoms worsened significantly after the birth of her first child.
Despite trying numerous treatments, nothing seemed to work, and Sheriena eventually resorted to wearing nappies every day.

Her condition severely impacted her quality of life, causing her to avoid social outings for fear that laughter or coughing would trigger a leak.
One night, while browsing the internet, she discovered a potential solution that would change her life: the PelviPower chair, a device designed to strengthen pelvic muscles, available at her local physiotherapy clinic, The Physio Crew.
Desperate for a normal life, Sheriena decided to give the treatment a try. Remarkably, she has now been able to regain her freedom and discard the adult nappies.
“I knew I really needed to sort it out as I was so embarrassed by the whole situation,” said Sheriena, who works as a funeral director. “Even my closest friends do not know about this issue. I’ve had many nights out where I’ve had to feign illness so I can go home because I’ve laughed or coughed too much and am wet.”
Years earlier, Sheriena had consulted a specialist, but was told they couldn’t help her due to her lifestyle factors, including her weight and smoking.

“I had some treatments years ago to strengthen my pelvic floor, but after eight sessions they told me there was no change and they couldn’t help me. I gave up hope. I just had to live my life wearing nappies and carrying multiple changes of clothes everywhere, even to work.”
However, her luck changed when she tried the PelviPower chair. She has undergone 12 sessions over six weeks.
The PelviPower device sends repetitive, pain-free magnetic impulses to stimulate and strengthen the pelvic floor and surrounding muscles.

The brand claims that 20 minutes on the chair is equivalent to 25,000 kegel exercises.
The treatment has been life-changing for Sheriena, significantly improving her quality of life and even enhancing her sex life.
“It’s the best thing to ever happen to me. I’ve moved down to using TENA sanitary pads instead of nappies.
It’s also had a big impact on my sex life, as I’m now able to wear lacy Brazilian knickers instead of nappies. So far, it’s been amazing.”
