A vegan firefighter faced a 40,000lb steak blaze on her very first day on the job.
Dashcam footage from the fire truck shows flames and a massive plume of thick, black smoke billowing from the meat-laden lorry trailer parked on the hard shoulder.
The Doolittle Rural Fire Protection District confirmed the trailer contained 40,000lb of ribeye steaks.

The fire broke out last Monday (18 Aug) while the lorry was travelling along State Highway 174 in Missouri, USA.
The department said: “This was Probationary Firefighter Jenna Ulrich’s first fire, and she got to tackle it alongside her father, Firefighter Glenn Ulrich.”
They added: “Nothing says ‘welcome to the fire service’ like sending the probie to put out 40,000 pounds of flaming ribeye!
“Probationary Firefighter Jenna Ulrich is the only vegan on our department – so naturally, her very first fire involved a tractor trailer full of steak.”
The team managed to extinguish the blaze, but the trailer’s contents were a total loss, as reported by What’s The Jam.
The brigade also revealed it was their eighth vehicle fire in just three weeks.
Sydney remarked: “Oh, that is unfortunate.”
Meagan quipped: “Sounds like a good smelling fire.”
Robert joked: “Somewhere in that truck is a perfectly cooked steak!”
And Randa teased: “Someone call Alanis Morrisette.”
