This year’s US election has been a nail-biting race but with 266 votes as of 8 am this morning (6 November), Donald Trump is preparing to step into office once again.
In the run-up to the finish line, endless predictions were made about who would come out swinging – with even the viral pygmy hippo Moo Deng weighing in, suggesting Trump would triumph over Kamala Harris.
But there may have been another sign that was ignored.

Over the past year, three people have spotted Donald Trump’s face in their food.
Here are the strangest occurrences of the soon-to-be-once-again US President’s mug in meals.
TRUMP TATER
In May this year, Sue Richter from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was making a portion of baby new potatoes for dinner.
She was shocked to spot the face of the 78-year-old politician staring up at her from her plate.
“This was my potato tonight. Tell me you see it too. He was even more mad when I ate him,” she said.
BUTTERED DON
In March 2024, a woman named Claire New did a double-take while preparing steak for her tea.
Looking down at the knob of butter she had popped in her frying pan, the 35-year-old noticed Trump’s trademark quiff in the dairy product.
Claire, from Lancashire, told What’s The Jam: “My butter for my steak looked just like Donald Trump. I saw it straight away. I was charging my phone up and I had to rush to get it before he melted.”
WINNER’S LOAF
Just a month earlier, Staci Kelley, from Florida, also encountered Trump’s mug in her meal.
She was baking sourdough when she noticed a sour face with an angry-looking expression on her loaf.
“Talk about a sourdough,” said Staci.
PREDICTION PANCAKE
It all actually started with a pancake.
While there have been three food predictions in 2024, there was one last year too.
In September, Hakone Heuckeroth from Rotterdam, Netherlands saw Trump’s side profile in the outline of her pancake.
“Donald Trump,” she said, as soon as she saw it.
