Tom Kerridge is charging MORE for dishes at his new restaurant in the capital than one with the same name 30 miles away.
The telly chef’s latest eatery is called The Butcher’s Tap and Grill Chelsea, west London
There is another branch in Marlow, Bucks which he opened two years ago.
The new one – which was launched last Thursday (7 Dec) has a nearly identical menu.
But meals at the Chelsea one cost more than in Marlow.
For example the starters like Fried Mac ’N’ Cheese Bites, Grilled Chorizo or Cumberland Sausage Scotch Egg cost £7 in Marlow.
But at the new Chelsea branch they cost £9.50
A Classic Burger is just £13.50 in Marlow, but £15 in Chelsea and French Fries are £4.50 and £6 respectively.
Even the puddings are more expensive with it going up from £5.50 to £7.50.
Kerridge, 50, said: “The Butcher’s Tap and Grill Chelsea is officially open.
“Get yourself down there, in between your Christmas shopping and festivities for burgers and beer.”
Chris Harris joked: “Hope you get more than nine chips.”
Tamas Frost said: “You’re greedy.”
Julian Parmenter claimed: “Traditional boozer?
“£33 for a large glass of Chardonnay at the bar.
“Maybe your barman could have mentioned that before pouring.”
Yet former GBBO winner Candice Brown said: “Congratulations chef, can’t wait to get over there.”
Customer Matt Hoare said: “I was there last night and you were kind enough to let this drunken middle aged man take a selfie with you.”
Kerridge now owns nine restaurants in the UK and has three Michelin stars.
A month ago he was blasted for increasing the price of his cook-at-home Christmas dinner.
It contains no turkey, roast potatoes or vegetables but at £215 is £20 more than last year.
In October, he was criticised for hiking the cost of his posh fish and chips at Harrods by £2 to £37.
