A super rare Porsche 911 that is one of only 51 ever made is on the market for £660,000.

This eye-catching 1993 Carrera RSR 3.8 is among the most desirable 964-generation 911s.

The sale is an extremely rare opportunity for petrolheads to get their hands on this motor.

The rapid ride is equipped with an impressive 3.8-litre air-cooled flat-six Type M64/04 engine.

It gives the sportscar a top speed of 180mph, whilst possessing a hair-raising 390bhp.

The motor can go from naught to sixty in just 3.7 seconds.

The Porsche is finished in a dazzling Grand Prix white exterior.

The interior features a black single racing seat with a fully installed roll cage.

The 911 is equipped with a 120-litre fuel tank, unassisted steering, air jacks, centre-lock 18-inch RS 3.8 wheels, double fuel-filler, Le Mans exhaust, and a reserve fuel pump.

The motor was sold new to Japan and is believed to have competed in the All-Japan GT Championship series, as reported by Whats The Jam.

This vehicle is reportedly one of the original three Carrera RSR 3.8s commissioned by US-based Morse Motorsport before it was sold to Team Kunimitsu.

Since its retirement from the track the Porsche has spent the last two decades on display.

The motor will feature at the auction on 16 August, in Monterey, near San Francisco, California, US.

RM Sotheby’s, who are hosting the sale, stated: “The Carrera RSR 3.8 offered here, chassis 496096, stands among the most compellingly specified examples.

“Purpose-built for endurance competition and subsequently the subject of a careful restoration by leading marque specialists.

“With its limited production, motorsport pedigree, and formidable performance, this Carrera RSR 3.8 offers a rare opportunity to acquire a factory-built, air-cooled racing 911, equally suited for concours display or a return to spirited competitive use.”
