A little boy was left overjoyed when his police call for ‘emergency donuts’ ended with officers delivering a box straight to his door.

Bennett was playing with his mum’s old mobile phone when he made the call, with his parents unaware.

When the police answered, he told them it was an emergency – for a sweet craving.

Hilariously, officers local to the boy in Oklahoma, US, decided to take their request seriously, turning up at the home with a box full of donuts for the cheeky toddler.

The Moore Police Department shared the recording of the call, as shared by What’s The Jam.

He said: “911, it’s an emergency.”

“An emergency?” the dispatcher asked.

He replied: “Emergency donuts!”

The dispatcher then said: “Donuts? I want donuts. Are you going to share them?”

To which Bennett replied: “No, I’m not.”

He then put the phone down, leaving the police officers in a giggle.

“You called us about donuts?” an officer said in a video posted to social media.

“We came to give you some donuts.”

Bennett shouts “yes” before coming outside to see what was in the Dunkin Donuts box.

He then opts for a pink sprinkle one, before shyly going back in to his mum.

Bennett then poses for pictures with the officers, and the donuts.

According to the police, Bennett made the call using an old mobile phone.

While some devices can’t browse the internet or use social media, most can still call 911 in emergencies.

A spokesperson for the local police department said: “Old cell phones may be unable to use high-speed data networks, take photos or play music, but they can still call 911 in an emergency.

“As long as an old cell phone is functional, it can be used in an emergency.

“Meanwhile enjoy donuts.”
