A naughty lad pushed over a statue of Jesus Christ during a church service.
The curious boy approached the religious figure at the altar and stood by the base.
He then appeared to use his body weight to shove the base over, sending the Jesus statue crashing to the floor with a loud thud.
The congregation fell silent and some worshippers even covered their faces.
Sensing he had just landed himself in hot water, the lad ducked down behind the toppled base to apparently hide from everyone glaring at him.
The priest, Father Krzysztof, remained calm for a few moments before resuming with the service.
It took place at the Church of Blessed Jerzy Matulewicz in Kielce, located south of Warsaw, Poland.
Diocese spokesperson Father Bogdan Pękacki said: “There has been a lot of talk about our parish church and the figure of Jesus Christ.
“People also mention the composure and calmness of Father Krzysztof.
“Thank God that wasn’t me standing at the altar at that moment because we would probably be known all over the world by now.”
He reminded worshippers that the chancel area is only for those serving the altar such as priests, altar boys and lectors, as reported by What’s The Jam.
Father Pękacki said: “I kindly ask that children be under the care of their parents.
“Church is not a playground, it is a sacred place and it should serve this purpose.
“We are all responsible for this and we’re all reacting to the inappropriate behaviour of a child.
“But let’s draw attention to the parents, the child is unaware, but the parents should be aware.”
The video went viral on TikTok with 1.5m views and thousands of comments.
One local said: “I admire the priest for his patience.”
Another added: “Education begins with showing a child how to behave in public places.”
“Jesus, forgive him, for he knows not what he has done,” joked a third.
Eve said: “No one wanted to admit the child was theirs.”
The mishap happened last Sunday (22 Jun).
