In another clip, a young girl is seen playing on a plaza before the meteor shoots overhead, prompting her to stop and look around.
Other images show the shooting star lighting up various city skylines on 13 July.
The blazing meteor was spotted in cities in the Brazilian states of Piauí, Ceará, Pernambuco, Paraíba and Bahia, according to the Ministry of Mines and Energy.
Marcelo Antônio, coordinator for the Brazilian Meteor Observation Network, said the phenomenon was possibly a superbolide, an extremely bright meteor.
He stated: “As our planet, three quarters of it, is covered in water, most of these occurrences take place over the ocean and are rarely seen.

“When they are visible, they cause an incredible reaction.
“It is a very beautiful moment.
“But this type of phenomenon does not pose a threat to us.

“Generally, the rocky body disintegrates in the air.”
Irapuan Filho, physics professor at the Federal Institute of Piauí, explained why the meteor lit up the night sky so dramatically, as reported by What’s the Jam.
He stated: “When a small celestial body comes into contact with the atmosphere, it triggers a pressure wave that causes the gas surrounding it to heat up and give it that glow.
“When it comes into contact with the atmosphere, it does not break up completely because it arrives at a very high speed.
“Sometimes, if it is of considerable size, it can reach the Earth.”
Physicist Edward Montenegro said: “Given the brightness and distance, as it was seen in several cities in Piauí and others close to the state, it was of a considerable size, even to be captured by normal cameras, even with the streetlights.”
