Over time, he formed a close bond with his married mum-in-law Geeta Devi, 55.
His father-in-law, Dileshwar Darve, 55, learned of the affair and reported it to the community leaders in the village of Heer Moti, Bihar, India.
After the couple’s unlikely fling was revealed, Sikandar confessed his love for Geeta before the village council.
There was some deliberation and then Dileshwar and the rest of the community consented to the couple’s union.
They tied the knot last week in a traditional ceremony.
Sikandar’s father-in-law even arranged the nuptials and registered it with a local court.
He was also on hand to give away his ex-wife to her new groom, as reported by What’s the Jam.
One local joked: “The father in law is the real beneficiary in this, he got rid of both of them in one go!
“He’s probably now chilling somewhere in Goa.”
Another said: “Is the age difference between them really only 10 years?”
“Bihar is great,” wrote someone else.
Another local remarked: “Everyone has gone crazy.”
