An American social media user has left her followers in stitches after filming herself pranking her British boyfriend while also revealing an amazing onion-chopping hack.
Alex Murphy, from Boston, lives with her fiancé, Paul Klein, in London, and regularly shares insights into their entertaining relationship.
In a bid to crack up her 203,000 Instagram followers, the 35-year-old TV presenter decided to play a joke on her 30-year-old partner as she cooked their dinner.
In the clip, which has over one million views, Alex can be seen prepping a bolognese sauce for their dinner.
She prepares herself to chop the onions by using her jumper hood to secure a pan in front of her face.
Then, the influencer tightens the hood strings so that it is covering her entire face and asks Paul to come in for some help.
He is roped in to help chop the onions but before he realises, she turns around to face him, showing him her new hack.
“Do you mind helping?”, she says.
Paul tries to stay composed but starts to laugh hysterically.
Barely able to catch his breath, he says: “It’s steaming up in there! But that is genius, you’re so funny Al.”
The popular post has racked up over 53,000 likes with viewers left in hysterics by the hack and Paul’s reaction.
Emily said: “I am dead.”
Leanne said: “When he kissed the lid.”
“His reaction is priceless,” added someone else.
“I love this!!! You’re a great match!,” said Siobhan.
“This so funny,” said Ria. [sic]
Susan said, “Brilliant but does it work??” to which Alex replied, “It actually really does”.
The American found the whole thing hilarious, and couldn’t wait to share it online.
“I was inspired by seeing someone else do it online, so I of course had to show Paul,” Alex, who appeared on Dancing on Ice in 2020, told NeedToKnow.online.
“And it really worked, it actually stopped me from crying!
“He not only thought it was hilarious but absolutely genius.
“We couldn’t stop laughing and it was so hard to keep filming because I was howling so loud I couldn’t breathe
“People should definitely give it a go as it 100% works, and if you can try and prank your spouse with it… even better!”
