A Mexico fan was caught on camera being rescued by an England supporter after falling into a canal.
The clip went viral online following England’s 3-2 victory over the hosts in Mexico City in the early hours of this morning.
It shows a man wearing an England shirt standing on a boat holding onto a woman in a Mexico jersey after she fell into a canal in the Xochimilco area.

With the help of a Mexico fan, the England supporter pulled the woman back onto the boat while one of her friends retrieved her phone from her back pocket.
As she lay soaked on the deck, her friends laughed at her misfortune, while others could be heard cheering the Three Lions fan’s actions.
According to reports, the woman had crossed onto a trajinera boat carrying England supporters while waving a Mexico flag, but fell into the water as she tried to return to her own boat.
After the mishap, the England fans broke into a rendition of Oasis’s Wonderwall, belting out the lyric: “You’re gonna be the one that saves me.”
Riding colourful trajineras through the canals of Xochimilco is one of Mexico City’s most popular tourist attractions, as reported by Whats The Jam.
However, some viewers were more focused on the condition of the water.
One person said: “Gastroenteritis has entered the chat.”
Another viewer added: “Mexico’s Venice… complete with foul-smelling, stagnant, sewage-like water.”
A third person added: “The English are teaching Mexicans how to behave like friendly people, damn it.”
Someone else added: “Only in Mexico could something like this happen.”
