Cops rushed to apprehend a lost swan in a scene straight from the cult classic Hot Fuzz.
Officers were called after drivers spotted the bird wandering down a motorway in the south west county on Sunday (11 August), as reported by What’s The Jam.
In the 2007 film, police officer Nicholas Angel, played by Simon Pegg, is known to be the best across London.

His seniors, who are jealous of his achievements, transfer him to a remote village where he encounters various challenges.
In an iconic scene from the film, which is set in the fictional town of Sandford, a pair of hapless officers attempt to catch a runaway swan.
And officers in Wiltshire seemed to recognise the similarities, posting a famous line from the film on the force’s official X account.
“No luck catching those swans then?” a spokesperson posted, before sharing details of the call-out.
The post continued: “Roads policing assisted armed response teams removing a swan from the A350 this evening.

“The swan is now safely off of the road.”
The spokesperson also tagged the Hot Fuzz parody account for Sandford Police, asking: “Is this one of your swans?
“Can you come and collect it please?”

The post provoked a fun response with Grace and Favour writing: “Did your police officer have a cob on?
“Yorkshire slang apparently.”
While Michael Faulkner added: “On its way to Swansea.”
