A rare Bentley once owned by Sir Egbert Cadbury is on sale for £66,198.

The 1963 S3 Continental Saloon was originally delivered to him in November 1962.

Sir Egbert was Vice Chairman at the renowned confectionery company until he retired in 1962.

But it would benefit from servicing and some minor cosmetic work.

The vehicle comes in a metallic green hue with tan leather interior.

It is one of only 18 supplied with James Young CV100 Saloon Coachwork, as reported by Whats The Jam.

He had a huge passion for Bentleys and owned Speed Six, Derby, S1, and S2 Continental models.

In the autumn of 1965, J.S. Inskip, Inc, a US east coast importer of unique European automobiles, facilitated a purchase of the car by Herbert Hale Allen of New York.

Jay owned the car for 45 years, during which time the car was repainted in its current metallic green.

This car has been fitted with an electric radio, aerial, and front window lifts, along with full Continental instrumentation, including a tachometer – an instrument measuring the rotation speed.

Still retaining its original fawn leather upholstery, it presents as a largely unrestored car with patina commensurate with long-term Bentley enthusiast ownership.

The vehicle is currently listed by Gullwing Motor Cars, based in Astoria, New York.

It was originally selling for £79,511 but now has a discounted price of £66,198.
