The incredible sight of a quadruple moon appeared in the sky over a city, as a result of a rare phenomenon.
The stunning spectacle gave the illusion of four moons next to each other, like a shot from a sci-fi movie.
The phenomenon is known as a paraselene, or mock moon, and it is caused by ice crystals in a frosty atmosphere bending light.

It happened over St Petersburg, Russia.
Mock moons are exactly analogous to sun dogs.
One video of the moons gained nearly 48,000 likes, as reported by What’s The Jam.
The visual marvel left many viewers mesmerised.
One person remarked: “One of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen.”
Another person said: “God was sending a text.”
A third viewer added: “Biblical times.”
And a fourth person said: “I often have horror dreams about this.”
