Wetherspoons fans are praising a little-known breakfast order costing just £2.79 – with some claiming it now works out cheaper than rival high street breakfast deals at Greggs and Costa.
The budget breakfast was shared online by Becky Parkin after she ordered the meal at The Ironstone Miner pub in Guisborough, North Yorkshire.
Posting a photo of the meal on Reddit, Becky showed a breakfast bap containing bacon, egg and cheese alongside a hot drink, with an added hash brown costing 56p extra, as reported by Whats The Jam.

She wrote: “£2.79 plus I chose the hash brown for 56p.
“A bacon butty and latte meal deal in Greggs is now £3.25, and you wouldn’t get the egg, cheese or the 2nd/3rd etc hot drink.”
On top of this, Wetherspoons pubs offer unlimited refills on hot drinks in many locations.
The post quickly attracted attention online, with several users praising the value of the breakfast deal.
One commenter wrote: “Looks lovely and for that price as well, can’t really go wrong.”

Another added: “Plus spoons hash browns are amazing.”
The comparison comes as breakfast prices continue to rise along the high street.
Greggs recently increased the price of its breakfast deal from £3.15 to £3.25.

After Jam Press approached the bakery chain for comment, Greggs said it had attempted to limit price rises where possible and had deliberately kept some key value items – including selected bakes and pizza slices – at lower prices.
A Greggs spokesperson said: “We have made small changes to the price of some products in response to rising costs and inflation.
“Our focus remains on offering customers great value and high-quality products across our range, maintaining our value-leading position in the food-to-go market.”
Meanwhile, Costa advertises breakfast bap and drink combinations from £7.49 before 11am at participating stores.
Despite scrapping its famed breakfast roll, McDonald’s launched a new Saver Menu breakfast deal featuring a Sausage Sandwich for £2.99 with a hot drink.
While Wetherspoons has not officially marketed the breakfast combination as a meal deal, fans have praised the surprisingly cheap alternative to rival chains.
