Wayne Lineker’s latest venture has been branded a “complete nightmare” by a guest on its opening day.

The customer claimed there was a whiff of paint, and they didn’t have proper curtains.

They also said they had to wait for two hours to check in.

The 63-year-old owner of O Beach Ibiza – brother of axed MOTD host and ex-England footballer Gary – has recently welcomed holidaymakers to his new luxury hotel.

Located just a stone’s throw away from his famous coastal club is the brand new Bonito Ibiza by O Beach.

The self-titled “five-star luxury hotel in Ibiza” opened its doors to guests on Monday (2 Jun).

The high-end spot is kitted out with multiple pools, rooftop bars and restaurants.

And the top of the range eclipse suite can cost guests over £1,200 per night, as reported by What’s The Jam.

But one holidaymaker who booked their trip for the opening day described it as a “nightmare”.

The anonymous guest voiced their anger by leaving a scathing one-star review of Bonito Ibiza.

They claimed: “Absolutely disgraceful experience, avoid this place at all costs.

“From the moment we arrived, it’s been a complete nightmare.

“It took over two hours just to check in. Fine, we tried to be understanding since it was their first day of opening. Big mistake.

“When we finally got to our room, we were hit with a nauseating smell of fresh paint.

“Our room had no proper curtains. Just a thin, see-through layer that offers zero privacy.

“Anyone walking by the balcony could look straight into our room. It’s totally unacceptable.

“Every other room had proper curtains except ours. Why? We asked for a fix immediately and were told housekeeping would handle it.”

The guest also alleged: “We waited another two hours, and of course, no one showed up.

“This hotel is a mess. Completely unprofessional, disorganised, and clearly not ready to be open.

“My entire vacation is now off to a terrible start because of this place. I’ve stayed in hostels with better service.”

The negative experience has been followed by a mixed set of reviews.

Olivier Cornelis said: “We’re arriving this Friday and have sent several emails to ensure all the facilities would be accessible.

“To date, we haven’t received a single response, which is surprising for a five-star hotel.

“Furthermore, based on recent photos, we have doubts about the availability of some facilities: the rooftop pool, Mexican restaurant, and wellness area still appear unavailable.”

Vicky Ouaknine added: “I had the pleasure of staying at Bonito on its very first day open, and everything was great.

“The team was incredibly kind and welcoming, and they responded quickly to anything we needed.

“The hotel has a beautiful atmosphere, and you can feel the care they’ve put into every detail.

“For the first day, it was an amazing experience, I’m sure this place will only get better. Looking forward to coming back.”

Bonito Ibiza has been approached for a comment.
