Apparently, half of British women are going braless this week.
A new survey has revealed the exact temperature when we loosen the straps: 25 degrees Celsius.
What with the UK experiencing a heatwave – rising to 29 degrees Celsius today – and underboob sweat being a real issue, it’s no real surprise that women are opting to ditch the brasserie.
But one expert, who has 20 years of experience creating swimwear and lingerie, is warning against freeing the nipple.

“We strongly advise against forgoing a bra in hot weather due to the lack of support,” said Georgina Bibby, lingerie and swimwear technologist at NEXT told What’s The Jam.
“The primary function of a bra is to offer support to the weight and structure of the bust.
“Breasts consist of fat rather than muscle so inadequate support can lead to changes in both shape and form.
“While we acknowledge the temptation to go without a bra in hot weather, there are measures you can take to enhance comfort.
“First and foremost, it’s crucial to wear the correct bra size to ensure optimum support and comfort.”
Bibby’s warning comes after a survey reveals 48% of British women ditch their bra in hot weather.

But the expert says you’re better off choosing breathable materials than foregoing the brasserie altogether.
And what to do if you suffer from frequent underboob sweat.
She added: “To combat discomfort in hot weather, it is equally vital to choose breathable materials.
“Opting for a cotton bra is highly recommended as it offers naturally cooling properties, enabling air to flow through the fabric and preventing the accumulation of sweat.
“Experiencing underboob sweat while wearing a bra in hotter temperatures is a common and entirely normal occurrence, albeit uncomfortable.
“To mitigate this, we suggest wearing a bra crafted with moisture-management finished fabric.
“This feature effectively wicks moisture away from the skin, facilitating evaporation and providing enhanced comfort.”
