Retired cricket hero Stuart Broad has opened his SECOND pub and even helps out behind the bar.

The England legend also mopped the floor before the grand opening.

The 37-year-old quit the sport in July last year after taking 604 Test wickets – the fifth highest ever.

He already had one boozer – The Tap and Run, in Upper Broughton, Notts – which reopened last June after a devastating fire.

But Broad now has a second called The Griffin Inn, 15 miles away in Swithland, Leics.

As part of the decor it has old cricket bats on the wall.

He owns the pubs with business partner and pal Harry Gurney.

Broad – engaged to ex-Saturdays singer Mollie King – was seen in an apron with a mop and bucket hours before it opened its doors.

He was also seen behind the bar of the gastropub.

Harry, also 37, joked: “Less than 24 hours to go and it’s all hands on deck

“Same old Stuart always grafting.”

Announcing the opening yesterday (28 Mar), fellow ex-cricketer Harry added: “We are now up and running at our second pub The Griffin.

“We are very excited about the potential of this beautiful pub and can’t wait for everyone to see it.”

Local Victoria Cunningham said: “Just picking my jaw up from the floor.

“I’m obsessed, looks amazing.”

Zoe Darkins added: “It’s totally gorgeous.

“Congratulations to you both and all the team.”

Stephanie Webster added: “Wow it looks beautiful.”

The pair’s other pub was gutted by a blaze in June 2022.

It underwent a £1million refurbishment, as reported by What’s The Jam.

Broad’s last match for England saw him take the wicket of Alex Carey to draw the Ashes series with Australia 2-2 at the Oval last summer.

He also hit a six with the last ball he faced with the bat – the first player ever to achieve that double feat.
