What appears to be the UK’s most expensive Christmas decoration has hit the market for a jaw-dropping £20,650.
The 65cm crystal nutcracker figurine promises to “spark some festive cheer” – and you would certainly hope that would be the case when it costs as much as some people’s entire annual salary.
Sold by luxury department store Harrods, the nutcracker weighs an impressive 15.5kg.

Its description reads: “A recognisable silhouette, even in lead crystal.
“Nothing symbolises Christmas time quite like a Nutcracker.
“Waterford’s take on the iconic ornament is crafted in its signature lead crystal, with graphic linear cuts defining its clean, 65cm-tall silhouette.
“Place it upon your mantelpiece or at the centre of your Christmas table to spark some festive cheer.”
Needless to say, this is not the only eye-popping expensive Christmas decoration Harrods has on offer this year, but it is the most expensive by a clear mile.

In second place is the retailer’s crystal gingerbread house, which will set you back £17,200.
Or you could enjoy a crystal confectionary jar for a comparatively affordable £3,500, reports What’s The Jam.
But the big day would not be complete without a tree, and if nothing else, the 12ft offering from Harrods will not cost you as much as the nutcracker, coming in at £2,179.

There is also a £15 bear decoration – the department store’s cheapest – for those of us with less deep pockets.
Harrods has been contacted for comment.
