Santa Claus has misplaced his pencil this year, so don’t expect any letters.

Instead, Father Christmas is picking up the phone to share jolly messages… kind of.

A company has launched a bizarre AI service offering “real calls” from the man in red himself.

The ‘Santa Phone Calls’ service allows parents to fill in their children’s details for a personalised chat with a virtual Father Christmas.

The service does not use pre-recorded messages.

Instead, the ‘real’ Santa will have a full-on conversation through advanced AI technology.

Father Christmas will reportedly use the information provided by the parent(s) – such as the child’s name, hobbies and Christmas gift wish list – to make each call a “uniquely personal experience”.

The phone will apparently display the name ‘Santa Claus’ as it bells, too.

Unfortunately, however, the price is not quite so jolly.

There are three packages on offer including the base rate of $9.95, where you get a quick chat with the merry man himself.

If you splash $14.95, the five-minute call includes a recording that you can save for the future.

The most expensive package costs $19.95 for a “magical moment” for the whole family.

This particular Santa Claus speaks English in an American accent – though it is of course well-known that the man in red can speak any language.

It is unclear if the calls are only available in the US, as reported by What’s The Jam.

In theory, calls could potentially be made from anywhere in the world – but best to check before you put in the request.
