A fast-growing bakery chain taking on Greggs has launched a nostalgic new menu packed with retro sweet treats and 1970s-inspired favourites.
Bakery79 has unveiled its new “Summer of 79” range, featuring childhood sweets, classic sandwich fillings and old-school drinks designed to transport customers back in time.
The limited-edition menu includes doughnuts inspired by iconic favourites such as Parma Violets, Jelly Beans and Drumsticks, as reported by Whats The Jam.
Fans of retro lunch staples can also tuck into a range of throwback baguettes, including Cheese and Pineapple, Coronation Chicken and Ham and Heinz Sandwich Filling.
One of the standout additions is a Chicken Kiev Baguette, inspired by the garlic-filled dinner party favourite that became a household hit during the 1970s.
The bakery has also introduced a selection of summer drinks, including a Piña Colada-inspired cooler, alongside Watermelon Lemonade and Pineapple Lemonade.
The nostalgic range forms part of Bakery79’s “Summer of 79” campaign, celebrating the flavours and food trends that defined the late 1970s.
The bakery chain, which has rapidly expanded across England and Scotland, says the menu is designed to deliver a “serious dose of nostalgia” through both sweet and savoury offerings.
Founded in 2025, Bakery79 has quickly built a following after taking over a number of former Greggs sites at Park Garage Group forecourts.
The chain now operates 15 stores across England and Scotland, including locations in Hampshire, West Sussex and Dundee.
Bakery79 stores can currently be found in:
