King Charles is flogging a Paddington Bear soft toy for a whopping £275.

The special edition teddy is being sold at the shop at his Highgrove country home.

It is a foot high and comes in a gift box.

Delivery is up to another £19.95 on the price for the UK or over £55 worldwide.

But the Paddingtons – made from goat hair – are NOT for kids.

They are deemed to be for collectors only and are not be played with.

One customer said: “It seems an awful lot for what is essentially a cuddly toy.”

The product listing reads: “Based on Peggy Fortnum’s famous original drawings, this British-made classic Paddington is not just a toy, but a lifelong companion.

“Designed to bring a lifetime of joy and companionship, he is a bear who longs to be everyone’s best friend, evoking a sense of nostalgia and warmth in your heart.”

It adds: “Beautifully hand-crafted in Merrythought’s historic Ironbridge factory, Paddington is a testament to the finest natural materials and four generations of the very best British teddy bear-making expertise.

“His detailed design and expressive features give him a personality that one can’t help but fall in love with, and he is sure to be a loyal lifelong companion – always by your side during the ups and downs of life, and a friend to make memories with.

“Crafted from intricately woven mohair plush and soft cotton velvet, Paddington is outfitted in a pure woollen felt hat and a duffle coat featuring wooden toggle detailing.

“A carefully hand-stitched nose and warm smile imbue this creation with life.

“Created by Merrythought as a Special Edition, Paddington – Classic Edition is individually numbered and presented in a luxury gift box.

“A certificate of authenticity is also enclosed with each bear.”

But it concluded: “Warning: This product is not a toy and is intended for collectors only.”

Standard delivery in the UK is £6.95 or £19.95 for guanreteed Saturday deliveries.

But P&P is a minimum of £55.00 outside of Europe, as reported What’s The Jam.

It comes after it was revealed The King is selling £136 aftershave from the shop at Highgrove, south of Tetbury, near Stroud, Gloucestershire.

Paddington – a marmalade sandwich eating bear from Peru – has been popular with generations of children since the 1950s.

He also appeared in a sketch with Queen Elizabeth to mark her Platinum Jubilee in 2022.
