She is the second longest serving monarch in history and wore the crown for 63 years.

The items that were found in the wardrobe have been treasured for over a century by an Ilminster family with ancestors who had high connections.

The over 100-year-old pair of bloomers are an example of the Queen’s size with the waistband measuring 51cm.

“We’ve been fortunate to occasionally uncover a few items previously and they’ve always sparked strong bidding.

“This fabulous pair of open-drawers, the chemise and shoes will fascinate collectors of royal memorabilia.

“The garments likely date to the latter part of her years, since their size reflects a lady who was larger than life in many ways than one.

“We think they’re from the 1880s or 1890s.
“Though Queen Victoria was only 4ft 11ins and petite when she became queen at 18, she liked her food and her waist expanded to 50 inches over the decades.

“The baggy bloomers, which were designed for comfort, indicate a waist size of around 40 inches.”
